My first blog prize!

I got the first blog prize from Jelena, who is a creative, attractive and fashionable lady in Croatia!

My answers are: 

1.  My first purpose of my blog is to make friends to have a chat about dressmaking! ! I have many friends in my real life,　but no one of them is interested in it... 

And other reasons are;

To improve my English.  It would be a big help for me if you would correct my mistakes...

To keep my motivation for sewing.

2.  Sewing, home decorating, DIY, food recipes, and so on. I love seeing the people struggling to make something by themselves.

3.  I love Orbis's lip sticks,  Majolica Majorca's Mascara and Clinique's eyebrow powder. ^^

4.  I love Cynthia Rawley, Sunauna, Minaperhonen, though I have never bought them... just watching at shops.... To say truth, I usually buy my daily clothes at Uniqlo... haha.

5. cheek color and lip.. because my face always looks pale...

8. 'HACHI' --I can't watch it without crying... ah.....

9.  Pakistan -I want to learn to make Pakistan foods!

Tatami Bags

I have 2 etsy shops, one is for handicraft supplies and books, 

and another is for my creations.

I'm thinking about to create something special only in Japan,

and at first I made some stuffs from kimono pattern fabrics.

But at that time,  there already were too many etsians (even non-Japanese people) who were selling the similar things...

And second, I started to use japanese kawaii  fabrics to make pouches and something like that.

I loved them but in fact it was a little boring to me because it was not what I really wanted to do...

Then I stopped to make stuffls to sell,  and

I had been roaming, wandering, searching for any good hints for a long time...

and... finally I found this out!

What do you think this bag is made from?

The answer is ...  Tatami !

You know Tatami is the flooring made from straw. 

Each tatami mats has edging on the long sides,

and this is made from the edging material of tatami.

Who can believe it's made from flooring materials?

  It's unbelievably light and tough!

Grossy, smooth, sturdy and slightly transparent.

Very unique texture...  ah, too difficult to discribe...!

KOGIN Embroidery & Shop Information!

This is a potholder  I made before.

This embroidery is Japanese traditional one called Kogin.

I love this too much to use as a potmat, its original usage.

I just display and love to see it. :)

I purchased some cute fabrics pieces from maili's shop.

This is one of them.

I sewed the edges to make it a table runner.

 How cute, isn't it??

It goes well with my alder dinning table!

My dog loves...

It's winter here in Japan.

We have never seen snow this winter yet, but it has been so chilly everyday!

The most popular heating system in our country is KOTATSU. (click!)

We use it like this. (This is not me...)

It's very warm and comfortable.... so I cannot go out once I　get into it...

And here is another KOTATSU LOVER!

He spend almost all the day except the time for meals, walking and toilet.

He is sleeping though his eyes are opened !

So funny---!!

KOTO the Japanese harp

This is KOTO that is one of the Japanese traitional musical instruments.

It's like a harp, and has so beautiful tone!

And this is a music.

It is written in kanji numbers.

It seems to be very difficult, but not so much :)

I have played it since I was little.

But now there are few young people who can play KOTO..

Many of them can play the piano and other western musics,

and they have no interests in Japanese ones.

I'm so sad....

This music will heal your soul... Please listen!!

The woman playing KOTO is a granddaughter of my KOTO teacher.

I love their sounds so much :)
